Monday the 12th Students are in school for the make up day! Wednesday the 14th Class Picture Day Updates and Reminders: Please send in a healthy snack and a refilled water bottle daily. A thick winter jacket is needed on days where the high temps are 50 or below. Homeroom Homework: Reading for 15 minutes and talk to your child about what they read. See the homework tab for lots of questions you can ask! At this point the students should be diving deeply into understanding the text. Do you want to review the items below at home? Brainpop, brainpopjr, safari montage, learn zillion, and youtube have an abundance of great videos on the topics below. For writing- having students talk and write about their opinion on a topic and come up with 3 or more reasons with examples for why they think/believe/or feel that way. What We’re Working On : Word Study: Synonyms and Antonyms Reading: Point of View with Fudge-A-Mania Writing: Students writing opinion pieces. They are working on creating a strong introduction, stating a clear opinion, giving 3 or more reasons for their opinion, giving an example for each reason, and writing a persuasive closing. Social Studies: Georgia Heroes: Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King Jr., Jimmy Carter, and Juliette Gordon Low. This week we will focus on Jackie Robinson and Martin Luther King Jr. My Accelerated Math Class: This week we will take our Unit 5 Math Test on Fractions, Equavialent Fractions, and Comparing Fractions. The test will be Wednesday.
